Privacy Policy

This notice explains how Royal House Antiques collects and uses personal data, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Royale House Antiques Ltd trading as Royal House Antiques is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us through the contact form on this website and we will reply within two working days.

Our postal address is 1 Oak Court, 67 - 72 Bethel Road, Sevenoaks, Kent, England, TN13 3UE.

Registered in England and Wales, company number 17259494.

The information we collect

  • Contact details you give us: your name, email address, telephone number and any message you send through the contact form or a delivery quote request.
  • Order details: the items you buy, the price paid, and the delivery or collection address you provide at checkout.
  • Delivery enquiry details: the location a piece needs to travel to and any access notes you share so we can quote accurately.
  • Technical information: your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you view, collected so the site works properly and stays secure.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To take and fulfil your order, arrange delivery or collection, and handle any returns. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.
  • To answer enquiries and provide delivery quotes. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
  • To keep records of sales for accounting and tax purposes. Lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent fraud. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the business and its customers.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with the service providers needed to run the shop, and only so far as they need it:

  • Shopify, which hosts the checkout, takes payment and stores order records.
  • Payment providers used at the Shopify checkout, who process card details directly. We never see or store your full card number.
  • eBay, where many of our pieces are also listed and where some orders originate.
  • Delivery firms and specialist furniture carriers, who receive the address and contact details needed to complete a delivery.
  • Our hosting and database provider, which stores enquiries and delivery quote requests submitted through this website.

Where a provider is based outside the UK, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers put in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and delivery quote requests are kept for up to two years so we can pick up an earlier conversation. Order and payment records are kept for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK tax law requires. Anything we no longer need is deleted.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete data where we no longer need it.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data.
  • Ask us to transfer your data to another provider where that applies.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we relied on consent.

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies and local storage needed to make it work, such as remembering the contents of your bag. Payment and checkout pages are served by Shopify, which sets its own cookies to process your order securely. Read more on our cookie policy.
